‘Akita’ is a dinnerplate dahlia with enormous blooms (8–10 inches) in fiery shades of red, orange, and gold, often with brushstrokes of yellow and hints of burgundy at the base of the petals. The petals have a quill-like or slightly twisted form, giving it a wild, vibrant, and almost flame-like appearance. It’s bold, exotic, and a favorite for statement bouquets.
